Target a competition

A competition is a meet on one date. On its own it targets nobody, so you say who it is for.

  1. On the season page, select New competition.
  2. Enter the name, for example “Nationals”.
  3. Set the date.
  4. Add the location.

The meet now shows as a chip on that day of the calendar.

A goal says a group is building toward the meet, and how hard.

  1. In the same dialog, add a goal.
  2. Pick a training group, or Whole team.
  3. Set the priority: A, B or C.
Priority Meaning
A Full taper and peak
B Light taper, compete through it
C Train straight through. A tune-up

Pick Whole team when a meet is for everyone, or when your team has no groups yet.

When the meet is for a few people rather than a group, use the start list instead.

  1. Open the Start list in the same dialog.
  2. Find the athlete’s row.
  3. Select Going, or select the events they will run.

Going is an entry with no event yet. Use it when you know who travels but not yet what they run. The athlete fills the events in afterward.

An athlete sees the meet when a goal covers them, through their group or the whole team, or when the start list names them.

The meet shows on their week with no workout placed. You do not have to plan a competition day by hand.

The athlete files their result against their entry: the event and the time.

Those results become personal bests, which then resolve your %PB training targets.

StrideUp does not write a taper for you. The priority records your intent.

To taper, mark the microcycles before the meet with the taper role and plan them yourself. The progression tool then leaves those weeks alone instead of ramping them.
