Notifications

StrideUp sends three notifications. All of them go to athletes, on the phone app.

Notification Who gets it When
Morning check-in reminder Athletes 09:00 in the team’s timezone
Session RPE reminder Athletes 10:00 in the team’s timezone
Added to a team Athletes When a coach accepts your join request

Coaches get no push notifications. The phone app is the athlete’s app, and a coach reads the plan when they open the web app.

The first two are reminders that repeat. The third happens once: your coach accepts your request to join, and your plan turns on.

Watch your email for this one. Until you are on a team the app has nowhere to send you a notification, so the email is what actually reaches you. The switch is there for the day that changes.

The check-in reminder is skipped in three cases.

  • You already filed today’s check-in.
  • Your team has no running season.
  • You turned the reminder off.

The RPE reminder is skipped in the same three, with the first read as: every recent session already has a report.

A morning with no reminder is usually one of these.

The RPE reminder is aggregated. Three sessions waiting is one notification saying so, never three.

If both reminders fall due on the same morning they arrive as one message. The two switches stay separate, because they are separate promises.

The hour comes from the timezone your coach set on the team. Your phone’s own timezone makes no difference.

A team in Brussels gets its reminder at 09:00 Brussels time, wherever an individual athlete happens to be that week.

  1. Open the Profile tab in the phone app.
  2. Select Notifications.
  3. Turn that reminder off.

The settings are yours, and they stay until you change them.

Check that notifications are allowed for StrideUp in your phone’s own settings. The app cannot send you anything the phone blocks.

Then check the skip rules above. A team between seasons sends nothing at all.
